Creating better cities together.
Friday September 25, 2026 2:30pm - 3:45pm CEST
How can communities, practitioners, and institutions work together to shape regenerative futures for place?
This interactive workshop introduces Guild Assembly: Weaving Regenerative Futures, a participatory serious game co-developed with Eden Project Scotland. Inspired by historical guilds, the workshop reimagines them as contemporary civic infrastructures that bring together diverse forms of knowledge, care, and stewardship to address complex place-based challenges.
Participants self-organise into Guilds representing different perspectives on regenerative futures and respond collectively to a locally grounded urban scenario. Through negotiation, collaboration, and hands-on interaction with physical game elements, participants explore how small, strategic interventions can contribute to wider processes of social, ecological, and cultural regeneration.
Using action pieces, intention markers, and woven threads, participants build a shared relational map that makes visible connections, responsibilities, and opportunities for collective action. The process encourages dialogue across disciplines and sectors while highlighting the value of plural perspectives in shaping resilient and inclusive places.
The workshop offers a playful yet practical approach to collaborative placemaking, inviting participants to explore how stewardship, participation, and shared responsibility can support regenerative transformation. The resulting artefact captures collective insights and reveals opportunities for action across scales and communities.
