Creating better cities together.
Thursday September 24, 2026 2:30pm - 3:45pm CEST
Green spaces make cities healthier, cooler and more liveable, yet when budgets are decided, "nice park" rarely beats "new road." Sound familiar? The problem isn't a lack of good ideas; it's a lack of evidence that speaks the language of decision-makers.
This hands-on workshop introduces a practical KPI framework that connects green interventions to the outcomes that matter most: wellbeing, climate resilience and long-term social value. Developed through the EU-funded ReGreeneration project, the approach helps planners, communities and advocates build data-driven cases that hold up in budget discussions, not just design reviews.
But you won't just learn about it - you'll experience it. Working in small groups around a case study set in a Wrocław neighbourhood, you'll compare intervention scenarios for public space, select relevant KPIs and negotiate a joint recommendation. Each participant takes on a different stakeholder role — Municipal Finance Expert, Neighbourhood Resident, Environmental Activist or Local Business Owner — each with different priorities, different concerns and a shared decision to be made. Can you find common ground?
You'll leave with a transferable method for building evidence-based cases for green urban interventions and the lived experience of doing it across conflicting priorities, just like in real city decision-making.
No KPI expertise required, just curiosity and an open mind. Come ready to negotiate!
