👀 Fresh Eyes on Wrocław: The Results of a Collective Challenge with Europe’s Placemaking Community!

During Placemaking Week Europe, hundreds of practitioners from across Europe moved through Wrocław, encountering its streets, buildings and public spaces with fresh eyes. We tried to turn that unusual moment into a collective participation experiment: five places, three simple questions, and one shared picture of the city.


In this session, we reveal what emerged.


What did Europe notice about Wrocław? What would placemakers take home to their own cities? And what small changes did they think could make a big difference?


We will explore the results together, moving from observation to interpretation and, importantly, to action - handing the insights that emerged back to the City of Wrocław as a collective gift.


Along the way, we will unpack and reflect on the experiment itself: how can cities capture the perspectives of people already passing through them, without another workshop, long survey or formal engagement process? And how can participation be integrated more seamlessly into the everyday experience of a city?
