Dominika Belanská (Slovakia) is an artist and social architect, a dancer, singer, musician, visual artist, poet and a bee steward, who aims to regenerate trust and rebuild relationships. Co-creator of projects “River Within”, “Brownfields and Orchards”, “Generations Together”, “stroMy”, as well as the international music festival “Y2K Slovakia Loopfest”. Since the 2010’s she has been part of the participatory turn in city planning in Central Europe, leading diverse initiatives for inclusive public spaces (such as the first rooftop urban garden “Pod Pyramídou” in Bratislava, Slovakia) and involved in the beginnings of the Placemaking Europe network. From 2020 she has been rooting back in her hometown Prievidza and surrounding region, devoting to her artistic practice as a way of deeper understanding of herself and the world. She is currently re-learning to sing and dance from the bees, records her original music album “MED” and performs locally and internationally, while sharing her knowledge of the principles of the Way of Council, using various placemaking tools and her own embodied experience of the creative power of the voice.
