About me
Filipa Serpa is an
architect and urban planner, specialised in Urban and Environmental Regeneration
and a PhD in Urbanism focused on publicly promoted housing projects. She
has been teaching at the Lisbon School of Architecture, University of Lisbon,
since 2000 and is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of
Urbanism and an Integrated Researcher at the Research Centre for Architecture,
Urbanism and Design (CIAUD). Her research interests lie in the fields of
housing and public space, and she coordinates the URBinLAB research group.
She is a member of the Ibero-American Network of Sustainable Social Housing
and the International Forum of Urbanism, among other international research
networks. She coordinates the postgraduate training programme in Housing
Innovation promoted by FA–ULisboa. Between June 2023 and September 2024,
she served as Vice-President of the Executive Board of the Institute for
Housing and Urban Rehabilitation. Since 2024, she has been a member of
the Advisory Board of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale.
