About me
Kim Weger works with participation and social inclusion, exploring how the theories of deliberative democracy can be applied within urban agriculture and placemaking projects. Kim comes from Canada and has her Master’s degree in political science from the University of Calgary, with research on community participation in development in Ghana. After finishing her career as an international athlete in speed skating, Kim worked in Germany in an international sport development project, and currently works with Natural State on national and international projects connecting people, ideas, and research, and translating sustainability theories into practice. Kim’s professional experiences includes work on Horizon2020, EEA Active Citizen Fund, and Erasmus + projects, and implementing placemaking projects and youth job programmes at the local level with a focus on integrating social and environmental sustainability.
