About me
Michelle is an urban designer and researcher at STIPO driven by a commitment to social equity. She graduated from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) with an MSc in Urbanism, focusing her thesis on gender-inclusive design. Prior to her work at STIPO, she completed a two-year traineeship spanning local government, architecture, and landscape design, giving her a holistic view of spatial planning. She is dedicated to understanding why people use spaces the way they do, aiming to revitalize existing cities and make them truly future-proof without increasing our environmental burden. In her work, she focuses on translating complex social-spatial research into actionable, human-scale interventions to make the world a more balanced, fair, and enjoyable place for everyone. Ultimately, Michelle is an outdoor enthusiast and passionate observer of daily life in public spaces. She likes to put the fun in functional analysis, and is always looking for ways to make participatory analysis and design an experience that is informative, but above all: fun.
