About me
Rajeev is an urban designer and a film-maker whose work bridges storytelling, urban design, and community engagement. Currently a Manager at WRI India, his work focuses on people-oriented development projects that create safer, more inclusive streets and public spaces through co-creative processes with governments and communities. Alongside his urban practice, Rajeev has developed over 10 documentary films capturing the heritage of traditional arts and crafts in Ahmedabad for House of MG, and produced training films on traditional cookstoves for Technology Informatics Design Endeavour.His films, on the other hand, focus on documenting the nexus between history and the cultural identities of cities, through an adaptive lens towards the future. He is also an Action board member of the Place Institute and has organized several events as a part of the Placemaking India Initiative.
With a strong belief in interactive engagement tools, he has also anchored simulation games to address complex city challenges and conducted master classes on ‘Tools of Thought’ at leading universities. His work spans cities like Bengaluru, Kochi, Hubli Dharwad, and Bhubaneswar, where he actively builds climate-responsive and people-centred urban futures. Rajeev holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from B.M.S College of Engineering, Bangalore and a Master’s degree in Urban Design from CEPT University, Ahmedabad.
