About me
Sabina Mihailescu is the founder of Placemaking CEE and co-founder and General Manager of DearNeighbour, Romania's largest neighborhood community-building organization, active across 100+ communities in 32 cities with 15,000+ engaged neighbors. Her work starts from the courtyard and the apartment block staircase, turning the smallest unit of shared space into the starting point for civic life, including helping pioneer Romania's first energy communities legislation by organizing neighbors into the country's first solar-powered apartment blocks. She has previously spoken at Placemaking Week, Urban Future and Global Shapers Summit and brings a practitioner's view of what it actually takes to get neighbors to claim a piece of shared space as their own.
