Creating better cities together.
Friday September 25, 2026 11:45am - 1:00pm CEST
The objective of this activity is that it will be an interactive event in which all participants can take part and express their views. We would like to engage with researchers and practitioners, sharing ideas and experiences, and identifying types of placemaking in which practitioners are involved. They will be able to discuss their work in mixed groups, to explore information that they are seeking, but do not have time to research themselves. Although proposed as an internal activity, there may be an opportunity to move outside to an adjacent space in the city and analyse its elements. Towards the end of the activity, there will be a plenary session to summarise outcomes from the groups. This will help to inform the Placemaking Europe Research Group agenda and its future direction. This activity is viewed as the first step in a process where the participants can continue to communicate about issues in placemaking. It is intended to create a synergy between researchers and practitioners for mutual benefit. Practitioners may be seeking principles to set their work in context, whereas researchers would benefit from project data. Further details will be available before the event to set the scene for this activity.
