Creating better cities together.
Friday September 25, 2026 4:15pm - 5:30pm CEST
What does it take to turn an inactive part of the city into a thriving commons? In Commoning the Neighbourhood, a hands-on role-playing card game, you can find out by living it.
Step into the shoes of different neighbourhood voices and team up to claim space, shape it through programming and design choices, and make decisions together. Along the way, you'll navigate the messy realities every real commons faces: tight budgets, competing priorities, and the tensions between actors who all want something different. Unexpected events and maintenance costs will keep you on your toes, pushing your team to draw on every resource, talent, and connection you have to keep your commons alive -because here, survival itself is the success.
The million-dollar question: will you compete for scarce resources, or discover how to create abundance together?

Grounded in systematic research on 200 neighbourhood commons spaces in Europe, the game is more than play. You'll leave with practical tools and insights ready to use in your own neighbourhood, equipped to write your own story of a thriving commons.
