About me
Seona Candy leads the socio-ecological justice and just transitions theme at Demos Helsinki. Her work focuses on collaboratively imagining sustainable, equitable futures, while designing and monitoring transition pathways that are fair, legitimate, and socially just. Currently, Seona leads Demos Helsinki’s contributions to the Horizon Europe-funded Fair Future project, which develops inclusive climate adaptation engagement methods for marginalised and underserved frontline communities. She is also a senior researcher for the SISU project, examining just transitions through a sufficiency lens. Previously, she led the TANDEM project—combining just transitions with deliberative democracy—and headed a capacity-building collaboration with UNDP India and the State of Jharkhand.
