As a destination development project manager at Visit Antwerp, I work on strengthening Antwerp as an attractive and sustainable tourist destination. We develop tourism in a way that makes the city, its residents, and its entrepreneurs stronger and more vibrant. This is not only about attracting more visitors and increasing spending, but above all about creating multiple forms of value, ensuring that tourism generates not only economic benefits but also social benefits for the city and its neighbourhoods. That is why I am very interested to learn how other cities use tourism as a tool to enhance the quality of life and strengthen the local living environment.
